A close friend of mine just got an Epic treadmill and got the dealer to throw in a treadmill mat, which he later discovered was too small for the Epic treadmill. But the machine is quite a beast for the price. I like that particular Epic 600 MX model for its 2.50 CHP motor. The “C” stands for continuous horse power, which is higher quality than a regular 2.50 HP motor in that it can sustain top speeds continuously without the jerking and straining of the treadmill. Of course he had to buy a better quality, albeit a cheap treadmill mat to adequately support the machine.
Some people seem to really like the workout programs that come with their treadmills. This Epic treadmill has 14 workout programs. Eight personal trainer work outs, two heart rate workouts, and two open programmable workouts.
The epic treadmill also comes with a 20” x 55” commercial tread belt with extra custom cushioning so your girly knees won’t have to bare full impact of running on a REAL surface. If you live in an area with hot summers you’d especially appreciate the cooling fan.
A lot of people don’t give a second thought to buying a treadmill mat because they think putting the treadmill on carpet flooring is good enough. Quite the contrary, the treadmill mat will keep dust and particles in the carpet from rising into the insides of your treadmill and clogging the mechanics of it. Also, if you’re getting a proper workout, remember that you will be sweating and that could stain carpets and rugs—especially if you were casted in a Gatorade commercial.
